Rajat Chauhan Marries Fellow Archer Swati Dudhwal in Jaipur, Archery Stars Attend Grand Ceremony

Arjun Award-winning compound archer Rajat Chauhan tied the knot with fellow archer Swati Dudhwal in Jaipur, marking a special moment for India’s archery community. The wedding took place with full traditional celebrations, where several well-known Indian archers joined the procession to bless the couple.

The ceremony turned into a gathering of some of India’s biggest archery icons. Olympians Deepika Kumari, Atanu Das and Tarundeep Rai were present, along with world-level performers Rahul Banerjee, Jayanta Talukdar, Ojas Deotale, Aditi Swami, Prathamesh Fuge, and Prathamesh Jawkar, making the event memorable for the duo.

Rajat Chauhan, who serves as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Rajasthan, has brought immense pride to India with his achievements. He holds an Asian Games silver medal, an individual silver at the World Championships, and multiple podium finishes at the Archery World Cup, including two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. Earlier this year, he teamed up with Aman Saini and Abhishek Verma to win back-to-back compound team golds at the Archery World Cup.

Chauhan also displayed excellent form at the 38th National Games, securing the gold medal in the men’s individual compound event.

His wife, Swati Dudhwal, is also an accomplished archer. She has won gold at the World Archery University Championships, bronze at the World Archery Youth Championships, and a medal in the Asian Grand Prix Circuit. In May, she clinched bronze in the senior category at the Khelo India Women’s National Ranking Tournament held in Bhopal.

Chauhan’s long-held dream of competing at the Olympic Games is finally becoming a reality as compound archery will debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. In 2016, he even tattooed the Olympic rings on his arm, expressing hope of one day competing on the world’s biggest stage.

The compound mixed team event will be added to the Olympic archery programme, joining the existing recurve events. This marks the first addition of a new bow style since archery’s return to the Olympics in 1972.
