Response Time & Procedure
• We will acknowledge receipt of a valid DMCA notice within 1–3 business days.

• If we remove or disable content, we will notify the party who posted it (if contact details are available) and explain how to submit a counter-notice.
• If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the content within 10–14 business days unless the complainant files a lawsuit seeking injunctive relief.
• If a court issues an order related to the dispute, we will follow the court’s instructions. -
Required Elements of a DMCA Notice
To be effective, a DMCA notice must include the following information (per 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)): -
Your full legal name and contact information (physical address, telephone number, and a valid email address).
-
A clear identification of the copyrighted work(s) you claim have been infringed (title, description, registration number if available).
-
Identification of the material alleged to be infringing and its exact location on our site (provide full URL(s) or other precise identifiers). If the material appears in our search results, include at least one search term under which it appears.
-
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
-
A statement that the information in the notification is accurate.
-
A statement that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
-
A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf (typing your full name at the end of an emailed notice constitutes an electronic signature).
Incomplete notices may delay processing. False statements may expose the sender to liability, including costs and attorneys’ fees.
-
Additional Information We May Request
After receiving a notice, we may request further documentation to validate the claim, such as proof of registration, screenshots, or sworn statements. -
Repeat Infringer Policy
Chronicle has a policy to terminate or restrict accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate. We may remove content posted by repeat infringers without prior notice. -
Counter-Notice (If You Believe Content Was Removed in Error)
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. After we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the material within 10–14 business days unless the complainant files a lawsuit.
A valid counter-notice must include the following:
-
Your full legal name, mailing address, and telephone number.
-
Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal (provide full URL(s)).
-
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
-
A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if you are outside the U.S., any U.S. federal district court in which Chronicle may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the complaining party.
-
Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is acceptable).
Send counter-notices to info@thetrendingpeople.com (subject line: “Counter-Notice — DMCA”).
-
News Publisher & Fair Use Considerations
As a news publisher, Chronicle may post reporting, commentary, excerpts, thumbnails, links, and other uses of copyrighted materials that may be covered by lawful exceptions such as fair use, quotation, criticism, or news reporting. If you believe a piece of content is a lawful fair-use instance, please explain the basis in your submission and include supporting evidence. -
International Notices
While this policy follows U.S. DMCA procedures, we respect rights holders globally. If you are submitting a notice from outside the U.S., please include the same elements listed in Section 3. We will process notices consistent with applicable laws and international agreements. -
Additional Notes
• Emailing our hosting provider, ISP, or others instead of using the contact details above does not constitute a proper DMCA notice to Chronicle and may delay processing.
• We may retain copies or archives of removed content for legal, compliance, or investigatory purposes.
• Rights holders uncertain about their rights should consult an attorney before submitting a notice. -
